03 · TIME & MARKS

Pace target and an honest guessing rule

PACE BUDGET

Board papers are written: budget roughly 1.2–1.5 minutes per mark and keep 10–15 minutes to check.

ATTEMPT RULE

Attempt questions you know best first, number answers clearly and never leave a question blank: partial working earns marks.

THE ARITHMETIC

There is no negative marking in written board papers. Steps, diagrams and labelled answers earn partial credit.

    • Recall cards for formulas, dates and definitions.
  2. PHASE 2

    First revision

    Nov–Dec3–4 h a day

    • Revise chapter by chapter using your summaries.
    • Solve the ASSEB model question papers subject by subject.
    • Practical files and internal assessments completed early.

    Second revision and test papers

    Jan4–5 h a day

    • Full papers under time: one per day, rotating subjects.
    • Revise weak chapters from the mistake notebook.
    • Social Science: Assam history and geography revision.
  4. PHASE 4

    Exam weeks

    Feb–MarFollow the routine

    • Revise only the next paper in the gap days.
    • Sleep well and check your admit card and centre.
    • After the exams: start your entrance or job pathway on joyjatra.

A typical week

Habits that hold up

  • Write, do not only read: board marks come from written answers.
  • Draw and label diagrams every time.
  • Ask your teachers early about the blueprint and model papers.

Start with a 50–30–20 split of learn, practise and revise, then let your own diagnostic results reshape it. joyjatra plans effort; it never predicts rank, cut-off or selection.
